Pattern to Venne Luen - Silk Mohair style / Friend beanie
It’s such a treat to have beanies that are light, comfortable, and still wonderfully warm. And a pretty beanie with lots of tiny cables is especially lovely to wear. Venne Luen – Silk Mohair Style also makes a beautiful gift to knit for someone who would appreciate a handmade beanie.
I’ve knitted Venne Luen – Silk Mohair Style in three variations, using three different yarn qualities, all from the same pattern. The yarns I used are No. 10 from ÖNLING, ITO Sensai from ITO Yarns, and VILJA together with TILIA from Filcolana.
In the No. 10 version, I’m wearing the beanie with the Fluffy Scarf and the Tara Sweater.
The light blue-grey version is knitted with Filcolana VILJA in the colour Raindrop (melange) held together with TILIA in Rainy Day.
Here I’m also wearing the Tara Sweater and the 4 Strand Scarf.
The burgundy version of Venne Beanie – Silk Mohair Style is knitted in ITO Sensai in the colours Coke, Bordeaux, and Gold Oak.
Here I’m also wearing the Tara Sweater and the 4 Strand Scarf.
Info:
Venne Luen – Silk Mohair Style is extra light and fluffy. Both No. 10 and ITO Sensai are silk mohair yarns, and even when held triple, the beanie stays wonderfully airy. I chose three different colours held together to create subtle depth and a gentle play of colour in the small mini cables. The third version is knitted with two strands held together: one strand of Filcolana VILJA and one strand of TILIA.
