Pattern Waves Sweater - English version
You only use stociknette sts. to make the Waves Sweater. It's an easy sweater to make. You knit the Waves Sweater on thicker needles, and when you knit top down, there is no assembly when you have made the sweater.
I have chosen to knit the sweater in two colors, to get a contrast where you usually have the ribbing. The yarn I´ve used in the pattern is Cotton Waves from Gepard Garn. This yarn quality has an uneven twist, which means that each stitch is a slightly different size.
The sweater is a "cropped" model. If you like to make the sweater with more length, you can easily adjust it. Since the sweater is knitted top down. The sleeves are not full length, but they can also be adjusted with more length.
The Waves Sweater is shown in size small in the colors 325 RED (main color) and 102 RAW WHITE (contrast color). Size large (which is oversized for me) is shown in the colors 102 RAW WHITE (main color) and 325 RED (contrast color).
Yarn: Cotton Waves garn by Gepard Garn (90% cotton, 10% linen – 60 m/ 50 g). Yarn Weight Bulky
Amount of yarn:
350 g main colour (MC), 100 g contrasting colour (CC) - 400 g MC, 100 g CC – 450 g MC, 100 g CC
Recommended needles: Circular needle 6 mm (40 cm, 60 / 80 / 100 or 120 cm for the Magic Loop method at the sleeves)
Sizes and measurements of the Waves Sweater:
All measurements are taken with the sweater flat.
The sweater shown is worked in size S in the colours Red (MC) and Raw white (CC) and size L in the colours Raw White (MC) and Red (CC).
Due to the use of Cotton Waves yarn, the sweater will stretch a little after washing, as the yarn is mainly cotton. This will make the sweater a little heavier.
Sizes S – M - L
Chest circumference and width at body (bottom) approx. 120 cm – 130 cm – 140 cm
Length from shoulder: approx. 45 cm – 47 – 49 cm
Inner sleeve length: approx. 18 cm – 19 cm – 20 cm
Gauge:
Approx. 13 stitches x 20 rows in stockinette stitch on needle 6 mm = 10 x 10 cm
The needle size is just a reference. Use the needle size with which you obtain the correct gauge (this is important for the correct measurements of the sweater).
The Cotton Waves yarn used here is unevenly twisted, which means that the individual stitches can vary in size.
